A rare opportunity currently exists for an experienced and motivated Food and Beverage Operations Manager to oversee the running of our Banquets department. Reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Manager, this position is operationally responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Banquets department including directing and supervising of staff, event set up, execution and pack down as well as ensuring the highest standard of service delivery and product presentation.
Key Responsibilities:

Liaise closely with the Conference and Events, and Sales departments regarding event planning and management.

Contribute to the strategic planning within the department.

Supervise and direct department supervisors and line staff.

Cooperate, coordinate and communicate closely with other internal departments as required.

Interact with suppliers, contractors, hire companies and other service providers as required.

Control and maintain the standard, storage, and use of all banqueting equipment and venues.

Ensure product presentation is maintained to the highest standard possible, including the presentation of staff, and the overall appearance of venue and/or event.

Devise initiatives and strategies to ensure financial targets are met.

Control of labour costs through monitoring of staff to patron ratios and strategic roster management.

Provide support to other Food and Beverage areas when required.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience as a Banquet/Function/Event Manager in a 5 star resort/hotel environment.
- The ability to meet financial objectives including wage and stock control.
- Previous exposure to cost management and budgeting.
- Demonstrated experience in staff training and development.
- Extensive food and wine knowledge.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate others to achieve business objectives and goals.
- A high level of personal presentation and grooming.
- Good computer literacy skills.
- Hold a current Western Australian Drivers License (essential)
- Current Western Australia/Nationally Recognised Responsible Service of Alcohol.
- The ability to obtain a Federal Police Clearance in order to hold a Western Australian Liquor License.
