I have worked at Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa for 5 1/2 years and I'm currently the Chief Concierge here.
Before coming to Broome, I was running beachside restaurants in Perth. Whilst there, I tried a few times to get into hotels but because I had no previous experience, no one would give me a start.
This all changed back in 2004, I accepted a position at the Resort as a Food and Beverage Supervisor. From there, because of my food and beverage experience, I was given the opportunity to train and work as a Personal Valet. This required me to take care of our VIP guests staying in the resort's premium accommodation. In 2006, I accepted a new challenge taking on the role of Guest Facilities Manager, before transferring departments to head up the Concierge team, where I am now.
From the moment they gave me my first break in the industry, the resort has provided me with plenty of opportunities for promotion, excellent guidance and really good support from senior management. One day, I hope to take my knowledge and experience with me - and to travel overseas where I will definitely continue to work in the hospitality industry.
