I'm currently the Chief Engineer here at the Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa; where I've worked for the last six years.
My career started back in England in 1978 as a plumbing and heating engineer. In 1988, I moved to Perth and continued to work in the engineering field for the next 14 years. In 2002, I packed my bags and headed north to Broome where I started my employment at the resort as a Plumber.
Whilst I was working in the engineering department, I was given the opportunity to move from Plumber to Leading Hand -before taking on the role of Assistant Chief Engineer and eventually Chief Engineer.
As the Chief Engineer, I'm responsible for all the overall maintenance, engineering and landscaping of the resort. And let me tell you, it's a pretty big place!
Over the last six years, the resort has given me the opportunity to learn and develop my skills and knowledge in engineering-and has created a career path for me. They have encouraged me to take part in both management and engineering based training and development.
In the future, I hope to continue to contribute to the success of this great resort. I’ll also be providing improvements by way of maintenance and environmental initiatives.
